The Patriots interviewed Mike Vrabel for their head-coaching vacancy Thursday, the team announced. Vrabel is the third candidate to meet with the team, following former NFL coordinators Byron Leftwich and Pep Hamilton on Tuesday.

Vrabel coached the Titans from 2018 to 2023. The Titans surprisingly fired him one year after winning the top seed in the AFC.

If the former Patriots linebacker is unable to come to an agreement, then New England’s search would require much more time given the league’s rules surrounding staffs of playoff teams.
