Despite some creative shortcomings, the A.R.T.’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” supplements the emotional power of its tragedy with fantastic choreography.

As the play reaches its climax and Romeo rushes to Juliet’s side, the stage is lit by a large number of candles, helping to create an intimate, beautiful but ominous feel.
