The last time Ashton’s “Romeo and Juliet” was seen in the U.S. was in 2016, when it was performed by the Los Angeles Ballet.

As the play progresses, Romeo illustrates how passionate he is by avenging his best friend Mercutio's, death. He kills Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, and is forced to leave the city of Verona.

This, the character Anne reminds in the middle of “& Juliet,” is how the show is meant to be. In the first few pages of “Romeo and Juliet,” we learn the fate of the titular characters.
