A large red cargo ship named Pyxis Ocean set out on its maiden voyage this month. But unlike most others before it, this one is powered, in part, by wind.

MSC Cruises, a Swiss-Italian cruise line, will launch its largest ship to sail in the U.S. market and will debut its first public sailing from Miami on April 12, 2025.

The ship is powered by two masts and a huge sail. It is equipped with 3,000 square meters of sail and two 249-foot (76-meter) foldable Solidsail carbon masts.

Sail Portsmouth won't hold a tall ships festival in 2025, but it invites teens to participate in Sea Challenge aboard a ship for a week this summer.
