Firefighting efforts continued across in southern Miami-Dade County, where a massive brush fire burned over 3,000 acres this week.

Wildfires prompted the closure of a major road linking the Florida Keys to the mainland several times this week.

Drought conditions — along with low humidity, gusty winds, and plenty of dry fuel — have driven up the number of wildfires around Florida. The largest brush fire, the 344 Fire in south Miami-Dade County,
