Ten years before, his uncle, Dictator-President Tiburcio Carias Andino, had abolished sport teams and clubs in Honduras as possible blinds for political conspiracy.

On Feb. 1, barring further violence, Honduras will have a new President — General Tiburcio Carias Andino, burly, mustachioed farmer and reformed hotblood.

Bobak-Carias, who has lived in Southwick since 2017, would follow in the footsteps of her grandfather, Tiburcio Carias Andino, who served as the country’s president from 1933 to 1949.
