Apple loses top spot in China as Vivo, Huawei overtake: Canalys
Apple was dethroned as China's biggest smartphone seller in 2024, with local rivals Vivo and Huawei overtaking the iPhone maker after its annual shipments in the country declined 17%, data from research firm Canalys showed on Thursday. Julian Satterthwaite reports.

Apple ’s China smartphone shipments slipped to 42.9mn in 2024, 17 per cent lower than the year before, according to market research firm Canalys. That cut its market share by 4 percentage points to 15 per cent. Shipments in the final quarter dropped 25 per cent year on year.
