Officials did not share details related to the sexual assault, but confirmed with KPRC 2's Bryce Newberry they are investigating the crime on the cruise ship, which docked in Galveston.
Carnival CEO and President Gerry Cahill called the Breeze "a little more contemporary." "We had something we were trying to accomplish," he said.
Carnival Breeze will start its new Port Canaveral-based service on Sept. 30, 2018, with a one-time, six-day cruise to Nassau, Amber Cove (Dominican Republic) and Grand Turk.
