American Chris Gotterup did think about winning the British Open on Sunday when Scottie Scheffler made a double-bogey in the last round but it did not last long.
The former Rutgers golfer finished in third place in the 153rd edition of the sport’s oldest tournament, which was held this weekend at Royal Portrush Golf Club. Gotterup shot xx-under-par across his four days in Northern Ireland, staying among the top 10 on the leaderboard for a majority of the competition.
