Spurs agree deal to take Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha on loan; Palhinha signed for Bayern from Fulham for £47.4m last summer and has three years remaining on his current deal

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich to sign Joao Palhinha on loan with an option to buy. The former Fulham midfielder will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a season-long switch. Palhinha, who had interest from elsewhere, made his intention to join Spurs clear once he heard of their interest in him.

Palhinha was Fulham’s player of the season in his debut campaign at Craven Cottage and made 79 appearances in total for the club. Before his move to the Premier League, he had spent the entirety of his senior career in Portugal with Sporting CP and had several loan spells elsewhere.
