Max Holloway is pushing for a radical, and perhaps controversial, change after defending his BMF title at UFC 318. 'Blessed' played spoiler to Dustin Poirier's retirement, finally notching a win against 'The Diamond' to end their score at 2-1 to Poirier.

Holloway (27-8 MMA, 23- 8 UFC) retained his BMF title by outlasting the retiring Dustin Poirier (30-10 MMA, 22-9 UFC) in Saturday's main event at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Holloway had Poirier in trouble a couple of times and outstruck "The Diamond" over the course of the fight. Cormier was very impressed with Holloway's performance.

In the main event this past Saturday night at UFC 318, the BMF title was on the line. Max Holloway (27-8) was looking to become the first man to defend the BMF belt while simultaneously playing the ultimate spoiler by defeating Dustin Poirier (30-10) in his retirement fight.
