Energy was high for the Raiders' first camp practice. The squad hit the field in the early morning to beat the heat at Intermountain Health Performance Center. Post-practice, Geno Smith and Maxx Crosby talked about their excitement to be back on the field and the new additions to the roster.

It came as a shock to some that the Las Vegas Raiders waived defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, whom the team gave a $110 million contract in free agency last year. While there are rumors around the Raiders and Wilkins in regards to the fallout, head coach Pete Carroll would speak about the decision.

The Raiders continue to struggle at giving Maxx Crosby a reliable supporting cast. Christian Wilkins has followed Chandler Jones as a free agency miss, one that came as the team’s top-10 Tyree Wilson investment has yet to produce much of consequence. Wilkins is out despite having been attached to the second-most lucrative defensive tackle deal.
