The NYC Summer Streets program is returning to all five boroughs "with more streets than ever before," the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) said. To celebrate New York City’s 400th anniversary, over 400 blocks of car-free fun, fitness, and live entertainment will be available for people to enjoy.

NYC's Summer Streets return for 2025, starting in Queens and Staten Island where several blocks were shut down to vehicle traffic.

The summer tradition of opening up miles of city streets to walkers, cyclists and runners is back. Starting Saturday, July 26, and running each Saturday through the end of August, New Yorkers can enjoy miles of car-free streets filled with free programs, art, fitness and cultural activities.
