Ogden's Christmas Village opens Saturday following a parade featuring Santa Claus. The display is one of 20 nominees from around the country in USA Today's best public holiday lights display contest.

Family-friendly festivities included a Christmas village, various musical and dance performances, visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, horse-drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, food trucks and much more.

When Petrus passed away, setting up the beautiful tiny Christmas village display came to a halt. However, the Carlisle community could not let something so beautiful just sit in boxes.
