The Trump administration has escalated its fight with Columbia University, declaring the school doesn’t meet accreditation standards because of its failure to protect Jewish students.

The administration notified the university’s accrediting body that federal agencies had found that the school violated Jewish students’ civil rights.

The Department of Education on Wednesday announced that Columbia University “no longer appears” to meet accreditation standards due to student protests over Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza, threatening the Ivy League institution’s accreditation status.
