Maine Forest Rangers say the fire started as a debris burn that got out of control, quickly spreading across an open field.

The fire was caused by a piece of debris from a permitted brush fire on the Haystack road. The fire spread through 45.8 acres of a grain field spreading toward Dudley Rd.
