Thieves have used a JCB digger to steal a cash machine from a Lancashire supermarket, police have said. The "ram-raid burglary" happened shortly before 03:00 GMT on Friday at a Co-op in Longridge, Lancashire Police said.

Dramatic images show the aftermath of the incident overnight, which happened at the Co-op store on Berry Lane. Extensive damage has been caused to the front of the building, with the Co-op signage seen hanging and a huge hole in the wall with the cash machine now missing.
