TARPON SPRINGS, FLA. -- Tarpon Springs police are asking for the public's help locating an inmate who escaped from The Transition House of Tarpon Springs around 2:55 p.m. Monday.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department said one man has died after being shot in the abdomen Friday morning.

One person was killed, and multiple suspects were at large following a shooting in Tarpon Springs Monday night.

Tarpon Springs firefighters said they arrived at the scene just before 5 a.m. to find a three-story home with smoke and fire coming from the garage.

The family who lived there all got out safely. According to a statement from Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue, firefighters also rescued three cats from the house. Nobody was hurt.
