Alabama has carried out the nation’s fourth nitrogen gas execution, putting a man to death for the killing of a woman who was raped and shot during an apartment break-in.

It was a terrifying ordeal that played out at a busy intersection. Police in Bloomfield Township say the victim in a road rage incident feared for her life and called 9-1-1.
