The Peaky Blinders ‘ creator, Steven Knight, is hopeful the upcoming film will be shown on the silver screen. Knight, who also wrote the hit Netflix show, recently told The Playlist about the highly-anticipated film that finished shooting a few months ago and it’s star-studded cast.

The original series ran on Netflix for six seasons from 2013 to 2022 and, after years of speculation, a “Peaky Blinders” film was officially announced in June 2024. Cillian Murphy will return as star and producer and Tom Harper is set to direct.

By order of Netflix and the Peaky fluffin' Blinders (come on, it's too early for that kind of language), it's been confirmed that the feature-length chapter of Thomas Shelby's (Cillian Murphy) future exploits will make its way to both the big screen and the small upon release.

Steven Knight has hinted that there may be a theatrical outing for his Peaky Blinders film ahead of its arrival on Netflix’s streaming platform. Knight saw his original TV series become an international hit over six seasons between 2013 and 2022, and told Playlist that filming had completed on the cinematic version:
