The New York Rangers are sending their first-round pick in Friday's NHL Draft (No. 12 overall) to the Pittsburgh Penguins to satisfy the conditions of their in-season acquisition of center J.T.

On Tuesday, the New York Rangers announced that they would give the Pittsburgh Penguins their 12th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft instead of sending them their 2026 pick.

The New York Rangers agreed to a JT Miller trade during the 2024-25 NHL season, acquiring the star forward from the Vancouver Canucks. On Tuesday, the Rangers officially satisfied the terms of the deal by sending a pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins, per hockey insider Pierre LeBrun.
