Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim described the noise of the Old Trafford crowd as the “best sound I’ve ever heard” after Harry Maguire’s last-minute winner sealed a comeback victory over Lyon. Maguire headed home in the 121st minute as United came from 4-2 down to win 5-4 — 7-6 on aggregate — and progress to the Europa League semi-finals.

Ruben Amorim said the Manchester United fans who left Old Trafford before their dramatic comeback against Lyon will be “gutted”. United trailed 4-2 in extra time of the Europa League quarter-final when Alexandre Lacazette converted a 109th minute penalty and some supporters decided to head for the exits.
