The baobab trees are found in Mumbai at Colaba, Jijamata Udyan (Byculla), Bandra, Santacruz, Andheri-Seepz, Aarey Milk Colony, Kandivli and also at Vasai, among other locations.

The arborist said that space in Mumbai was a major constraint for trees, because trees planted 30 to 40 years ago had now outgrown the space. “Thus, the rooting area is very limited,” he said.
