Two American Airlines jet have had a minor collision on the runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport - just three months after a deadly crash near there. The Federal Aviation Administration said the wingtip of one aircraft struck another on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the wing tip of an American Airlines plane struck another plane from the same airline on a taxiway of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Two American Airlines jets clipped wings on a taxiway, officials said. Representative Grace Meng said that, in 10 years of flying to and from Washington, “This has never happened to me.”

The FAA is investigating after two planes clipped wings at Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport. At least six members of Congress were on the plane. No injuries have been reported.

Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Amityville) posted on X that he was departing Reagan International Airport on Thursday afternoon when the runway collision occurred.

More than half a dozen lawmakers from New York and New Jersey were on the flight leaving from Reagan National Airport.
