The Flat Fire has burned 21,971 acres across Jefferson and Deschutes counties in central Oregon. Fire managers tell KATU News that the fire is 5% contained.

Four homes have been lost to the Flat Fire as it continues to threaten nearly 4,000 homes in Deschutes and Jefferson counties.

The wildfire raging in Central Oregon has destroyed four houses and about half a dozen other buildings, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office said on social media late Sunday. The Flat fire, about 2 miles northeast of Sisters, has scorched about 22,000 acres and remains 0% contained, fire officials said.
