It's official – GTA 6 has a release date, but Rockstar Games has confirmed its upcoming open-world blockbuster won't be making its previously announced fall 2025 release window after all.

After more than a year without any sign of a GTA 6 release date or new trailer, developer Rockstar Games has officially confirmed plans to delay Grand Theft Auto 6 until next year. Originally scheduled to launch this autumn, GTA 6 has now been given a May 26, 2026 release date by Rockstar Games.

Developer Rockstar Games has finally given us an official release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, though simultaneously revealed that the game has been delayed. As confirmed by a recent press release, the highly anticipated open-world crime game will now release on "May 26, 2026" - a year after its previously confirmed 2025 release window.
