A US Air Force plane carrying Indian citizens who allegedly illegally migrated to the USA landed in Amritsar, Punjab, yesterday. Those Indian citizens, primarily from Gujarat, were then transported from Amritsar to Ahmedabad airport.

A US Air Force C-17 Globemaster deported 33 individuals each from Haryana and Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, and others from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh to Amritsar.

Some Indian nationals who allegedly illegally migrated to the United States and were deported back to the country arrived on Thursday at Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat. A US military C-17 Globemaster military aircraft landed in Punjab’s Amritsar on February 5 with 104 Indian nationals.

A plane carrying 33 persons from Gujarat, who were among 104 Indians deported from the US for illegal immigration, landed at Ahmedabad airport from Amritsar on Thursday morning, officials said.

The Gujarat home department is verifying their ‘local criminal records, documents, and proof of Indian identity’.
