The IndyCar Series is racing at WeatherTech at Raceway Laguna Seca: Leaderboard, crashes as Alex Palou dominates again.

Since 2020, the series has held back-to-back races at Iowa, giving fans double the excitement. The only time a driver has swept the weekend set was in 2023, when Josef Newgarden won the double, winning in Corn Country for the fifth and sixth time in his career.

Richmond would fill in a much-needed hole in the schedule, which currently doesn’t have a race in the mid-Atlantic or the Northeast. A return to Pocono, where INDYCAR has seen its share of injuries and loss, is unlikely. Watkins Glen (another NASCAR-owned track) doesn’t seem to be in the conversation.

The 2025 IndyCar schedule includes 17 races, starting on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., in March, and finishing at Nashville Superspeedway on Aug. 31. Races are run on downtown streets, road courses and oval speedways.

Arrow McLaren has taken ownership of a new facility in Indianapolis and has begun renovations to expand and modernize the building.

With his championship lead trimmed to 99 points, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou continues to hold a tight grip on the title with four races left to run, but his main challenger, Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward, is on a hot streak of late, winning two of the last three contests.
