The body of a college instructor has been located and a private school coach remains missing after a boat was found empty on a lake in Georgia.

The woman found dead in a mysterious boating incident on Lake Oconee over the weekend has been identified as a Spelman College instructor. Joycelyn Nicole Wilson, 49, was found Feb. 9, the day after Georgia Department of Natural Resources authorities discovered an empty boat circling in Lake Oconee near Wallace Dam.

The search continues for a man believed to be on an abandoned boat on Lake Oconee. The woman's body has been identified.

“Gary Jones is a beloved Westminster faculty member, coach, and parent. On Sunday, we received word from his family that Gary had gone missing while spending time at an area lake. Our entire community is praying for his safe return and his family during this difficult moment,” a spokesperson for the school wrote in a statement.

ATLANTA — One person is dead, and another is missing after a boating incident on Lake Oconee on Saturday, according to Georgia DNR. Investigators identified the deceased victim as 49-year-old Joycelyn Nicole Wilson of Atlanta. While DNR did not provide the name of the other victim, they did say that he is male.
