Lexi Thompson might be semi-retired, but she hasn’t stopped grinding. The 29-year-old announced last season that she was stepping away from a full-time schedule yet signed up for the first event she was eligible to play in 2025.

Thompson stepped away from the LPGA full-time after the 2024 season, but gave insight on why she's playing the tour's second event of 2025, along with fellow retiree Brittany Lincicomb.

Few expected to see Lexi out this early after wrapping up her 2024 season at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December. However, the soon-to-be 30-year-old made sure to take plenty of time off to reset and refresh over the last month and a half, and boy, was it an incredible offseason for Lexi.

Lexi Thompson had confirmed her participation at the Founders Cup to kickstart her year. 2025 will be her first season after retiring from full-time golf.

After announcing her retirement last year, Lexi Thompson has confirmed that she will make a quick return to the LPGA Tour.
