Rescuers and residents resumed searching on Tuesday for survivors as the death toll from five days of torrential rain rose to almost 400, with authorities warning monsoon downpours would continue until the weekend.

Pakistani officials said Tuesday the death toll from flooding and landslides caused by five days of torrential rains in the north of the country rose to nearly 400.

Over 350 people have died in a 72 hour period in Pakistan due to monsoon flooding, Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority reported, bringing the total number of people killed to over 650 since June 26.
