The National Weather Service has placed Columbus and central Ohio under an extreme cold watch from 1 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Wednesday, warning that wind chills will drop temperatures into single-digit highs and nighttime temperatures could plummet as low as 15-25 degrees below zero.

Long-range forecasts show rain on Tuesday during the day, turning into mixed precip in SE Georgia Tuesday night. Confidence is low about sleet and snow at this time, but we’ll know a lot more the next few days.
