The NBA playoffs are in full swing, but that hasn't stopped the trade rumor mill from churning out intel as we get closer to free agency and the offseason. The free agency class this summer isn't all that enticing,

After a disappointing first-round playoff exit, the Los Angeles Lakers must strengthen their roster around LeBron James and Luka Doncic by targeting seasoned veterans with playoff experience.

The Lakers did make a real effort to plug that hole, however. They tried to land rising Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams, but that attempted trade was rescinded when he failed his physical. ESPN's Dave McMenamin said on “Straight Fire” with Jason McIntyre that they also looked into trading for Onyeka Okongwu of the Atlanta Hawks.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in for an interesting summer. After exiting the playoffs in just five games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Lakers' biggest glaring issue was the lack of a true starting-caliber big man.
