Ohio River in Cincinnati going down after cresting just below moderate flood stage
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Ohio River in Cincinnati crested below moderate flood stage and is now falling, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team. The river rose to 55.5 feet at 4 p.m. Wednesday and has fallen to 54.9 feet as of 4:40 a.m. Thursday. The moderate flood stage is 56 feet.
The rising waters of the Ohio River have led to significant disruptions, forcing some residents to evacuate their homes and causing the closure of several streets near the river.
The National Water Prediction Service (NWPS), which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is keeping track of how high the Ohio River is.
