Microsoft has received a clean bill of health following a probe into its investment in OpenAI in 2023. The firm invested $13 billion which triggered investigations from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

The watchdog concluded that the partnership does not warrant an investigation under the country’s anticompetitive practices law.

After months of scrutiny, Microsoft’s $13bn (£11bn) partnership with OpenAI has been cleared by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The antitrust watchdog ruled that Microsoft‘s investment did not meet the threshold for a full-scale merger investigation,
