Holding flags, orange balloons and signs saying ''forgive us,'' tens of thousands of Israelis lined highways as the bodies of a mother and her two young sons, killed in captivity in the Gaza Strip, were taken for burial on Wednesday.

A funeral procession for a mother and her two young sons whose remains were handed over by Hamas is being held Wednesday morning in Rishon Lezion, Israel.

Thousands of Israelis lined the streets to mourn the Bibases, who were taken hostage in the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7, 2023, and had become a symbol of the country’s trauma.
