The Pac-12 and Texas State announced Monday that the Bobcats will join Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah State and Washington State as the nine foundational members of the new Pac-12, with the league’s official launch set for July 1, 2026.

After a $5 million buyout to the Sun Belt was approved, Texas State has officially joined the Pac-12 as the league's ninth member ahead of its relaunch in 2026.

The Texas State Board of Regents reportedly authorized a payment of up to $5 million to exit the Sun Belt Conference, clearing the way to join the Pac-12.
