My MO would like me to start an AI and ovarian suppression/removal. I am 42. Onc score was 31 for IDC with lobular component. No nodes.

My question for this wise group is how many of you have remained on an AI for more than 10 years, and what do your doctors tell you about the risk of continuing vs not?

I am recovering from my third breast cancer dx and have been getting numbness and pain in my ribs, legs and hips. It gets worse at night when I lay down.

Hi, I just met with a new oncologist after the retirement of my previous one. I have been on an Aromatase Inhibitor for six years with worsening bone loss. Taking Fosamax. The new oncologist suggests switching to Tamoxifen. Total treatment time would be 8 years vs. target of 7 if I stay on AI. Has anyone had or considered making the switch?

I was on AI drugs 15 months (Letrozole 11 months, transition 1 month, Anastrozole 3 months). I was unable to tolerate the joint pain and now take Tamoxifen 20 mg (1 month). My knee osteo arthritis advanced during last year.
