Jan 2, 2025 · The Cook Out Clash on Feb. 2 will be the first NASCAR Cup Series Race at the iconic venue since 1971 and will be shown live on FOX. The event sold out in November, and only a limited number of seats remain for the Cook Out Madhouse Classic on Saturday, Feb. 1.

In 1949, Bill France Sr. and Alvin Hawkins, two founding fathers of NASCAR, brought motorsports to the facility as the first weekly racetrack and first paved racetrack that NASCAR competed on. On May 18, 1949, the first NASCAR-sanctioned event was held with Fonty Flock winning the race.
